Inclusion have provided the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service and Psychiatry element of the mental health provision in the West Yorkshire Prisons since April 2016.  The integrated model brings together the staff responsible for delivering these core elements of the service working with partner Practice Plus Group (PPG) who are responsible for the wider healthcare provision.

Inclusion has many years experience of delivering services within prison environments and has listened to and responded to feedback with the design of the service model within each of the prisons within West Yorkshire

We have worked to bring together elements of delivery to enhance the service user experience and increase effectiveness of supporting them to move forward.

Based on a stepped-care-model approach, we ensure that our service users are given the right levels of interventions to meet their needs, with an understanding that one size does not fit all. Our integrated teams consist of experienced psychosocial substance misuse professionals, team managers, administrators and Psychiatrists.

Each of the prisons that fall within West Yorkshire have different populations and requirements, we are responsive to the needs of the population and the host prison requirements working closely with governors, prison staff and partner agencies within the prison.

The prisons included in West Yorkshire are;

• HMP Leeds – a category B adult male prison
• HMP Wealstun – a category C adult male prison
• HMP Wakefield – a category A adult male prison
• HMP/YOI New Hall – a closed adult female prison and female juvenile and young offender institution
• HMP/YOI Askham Grange – an open female adult and young offenders institution
