The Drug and Alcohol Recovery Team (DART) at HMP Wealstun organised a Recognition in Recovery Family Day, in which 4 service users were handpicked to attend and invited to celebrate their success around the positive steps they have made in their own recovery.
This event was extremely successful and those involved had the opportunity to spend time with their families to celebrate their success.
We love sharing the stories of our service users and we are pleased to see the team at HMP Wealstun celebrate the commitment and dedication that goes into an individual’s recovery journey. Take a look at some of the feedback below!
I have never felt so emotional, proud, normal and valued as I did at this event and because it was in the VTC, it was comfortable for me and my visitors.
It gave me an insight into how well my partner was doing in his recovery. Reassured me that he is actively making changes.
It was nice to see my brother being a father to his daughter.
Inclusion has provided the drug and alcohol recovery service and psychiatry element of the mental health provision in West Yorkshire Prisons since April 2016. We have worked to bring together elements of delivery to enhance the service user experience and increase the effectiveness of supporting them to move forward. With an understanding that one size does not fit all, we ensure our service users are given the right level of interventions to meet their needs.
Please note that all those pictured, including the prison itself, have provided Inclusion with written consent for their photo to be used for promotional purposes.
